Pathways to Military Behavioral Health Careers
Pathways to Military Behavioral Health Careers offers two opportunities each year, The Winter Institute (virtual) and The Summer Institute (in person) to strengthen students’ backgrounds in military behavioral health careers. Participants will gain first-hand knowledge of military culture and the work of behavioral health providers serving in uniform from military leaders, experts in the field, and will connect with behavioral health professionals currently serving in these roles. These interactive experiences are designed to inform and inspire future career pathways of service in active-duty and Defense Health Agency (DHA) behavioral health roles.
Registration for Winter Institute will open by 1 October 2026 and for Summer Institute by 15 February 2027.
The Summer Institute
Dates: 13-14 July 2027
Format: In person (approximately 1.5 days)
Cost: *Free Registration
* While there is no registration fee, Summer Institute participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and food expenses.
The Winter Institute
Dates: 12-13 January 2027
Format: Virtual (approximately 1.5 days)
Cost: Free Registration
Program Impact
The Pathways Program supports graduate students in building knowledge and confidence for active-duty behavioral health careers.
