FAQ
Pathways to Military Behavioral Health Careers
What is the difference between The Summer Institute and The Winter Institute?
The Summer Institute is a longer in-person experience designed for students exploring military behavioral health careers in more depth. The Winter Institute is a shorter virtual experience designed for learners who want an online introduction to military-connected behavioral health practice.
Can I attend both The Summer Institute and The Winter Institute?
Students should apply to the program that best matches their current training needs and eligibility. If spaces and eligibility requirements allow in a future cycle, you may apply to the alternate institute in a later year.
If I was not accepted to attend The Summer Institute, can I apply to The Winter Institute?
Yes. A decision for one Pathways institute does not automatically prevent you from applying to the other. You should review the eligibility requirements for the Winter Institute and submit a separate application if it is a better fit.
May reapply if my initial application is not accepted?
Yes. Applicants are welcome to reapply in a future cycle if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements and want to be considered again.
Is There a Cost?
There is no tuition cost for either institute. Depending on the program, participants may still be responsible for personal expenses such as travel, meals, parking, lodging outside of program coverage, or other incidentals.
What are the hours of the course?
Course schedules vary by institute and by year. Once accepted, participants receive the detailed agenda, session times, and expectations for attendance directly from the program team.
